Warm-Ups
There some evidence that shows that warm-ups makes the students feel comfortable wih the classes, and they participate more inside the classroom. So that, the teacher must know about some warm-ups he can use while teaching.Since the teacher is giving some topics, he can add some games to create a good enviroment for the students.
According with the warm-ups, they can be used for relaxing, feeding back a topic or cheering the students. The adventages and disadventages are depending on the kind of warm up the teacher does. For example,"writing a story" that was an activity which the students had little time to use their imagination and write whatever they wanted on a page, then they changed with a classmate. It sounds interesting and nice because it is a freedom activity they socialize with the class, use vocabulary, share with others, etc. The disadventage could be that it was to much noisy and some of the students did not have a page to write.
On the other hand, Dayana's warm up was a little bit different because students selected one leader and only the leader was in front of the class, they might be change in order to create a fair participation between the others. But with these warm ups in a good developed way the class will work, we only have to think how to use and apply them.
With the warm ups activities we can also help the students who are shy at the beggining of the class because that increases the motivation of the students to participate or to give opinions in the class. The teachers have to keep in mind that all students are different; however, they have to look for an appropiate activity which envolves the room.
In sum, stuents can increase their motivation by participating at the begining of a class, and sharing before learn.
