Describe
At the very beginning of the class, I could notice
that some students were speaking English by they own. They looked very happy
and comfortable. Moreover, during the warm-up some of them were little shy,
but some others were participating and helping the teacher (me) in the
development of the activity. I decided to explain grammar using a colorful
chart, and I know that this helped me a lot. In other activities, I used some
flashcards in order to describe and make affirmative sentences. Otherwise, my
students were supposed to be beginners, but they knew a lot; so that, they
found the topic really easy; as they knew a little bit about the topic, they
developed the activities really fast. On the other hand, the environment was
quiet and the arrangement was the traditional form, so I decided to include
some activities in pairs and groups.
|
During some activities, using flashcards is a good
option because students tend to understand and acquire knowledge much better.
The topic was really easy for them, so I took
advantage of it because I developed more activities.
If they know about the topic, the teacher should
give them more difficult activities. This can help the students to gain knowledge
about the same topic.
|
Based on what I already know about developing
activities, the teacher has to find the best activities that work well for
the students.
Based on what I observed, I think that the
development of the activities is the best segment for the students;
basically, the ones that are kinesthetic.
I believe that enthusiasm, visual aids, and good
activities help the learning process of the students in order to withhold the
knowledge.
|
So, in the future, I will continue
using flashcards, charts, and reading because I proved that worked well.
In future lessons I will find new ways to teach “affirmative & negative statements”
I will visit some websites or more books.
The next time I teach this lesson, I will try to use
more listening activities.
In future experiences I will also include more extra
activities if they finish before time. In this first experience, I had
trouble with the time, but I hope to do it better the next time.

Hi Rosita, I like that your students already knew something about the topic you taught. However, in the next class, you should have a "especial activity" prepared just in case that happens and challenge the students, but you must use this wisely becas what if a couple of students are beginners? The activities would be hard for them. But in general, I liked that you used flashcards and colorful charts. Good job! :)
ResponderEliminarHi, thanks for your comment. believe me that I learn that I must have extra-activities. Now, I am thinking to change too many things in my next practice. I am sure I´ll do it better. :)
EliminarGood job Rosy :) The next time you teach, be sure to include more activities because it is really hard to keep them quiet if they finish the activities very quickly! But during the process you will be doing a better job!
ResponderEliminarGood Job! It is important that you can use colorful visual aids because students can feel this motivation in participate if they see something colorful. Also, It is a great advantage that the students can speak in english because students can understand, help you even communicate with you GREAT JOB ROSY!
ResponderEliminarI really liked visual materials. I think it is really helpful not for students but for teachers too. It facilites our lives when explaining any topic. Also I think it is a challenge for all the teachers when the students finish before time, So it is a task for us to be prepared with more activities just in case. GOOD JOB ROSY!
